Proudmouth has been in Auckland City for over 30 years. It was established in 1972 and began with only 2 dentists Dr Rod Dawson and Dr Graham MacKinlay.

In 1977 Graham and Rod shifted their practice to Karanagahape Road, after a few years they moved to Albert Street in Auckland City, to the site currently occupied by Sky City's new Convention Centre.  During this move Rod's brother Dr Michael Dawson joined the practise, moving his own Queen St practise to within the well known 'Albert Street Dental Care'.

1986 rolled around and they decide to relocate again, just down the road, to the current Auckland City location.

Since then Proudmouth has bloomed with an additional 14 dentists joining Proudmouth and the purchase of an extra practice in Takapuna, as well as an onsite Dental Laboratory, being setup in 2003.

In 2004 with the additinal practice in Takapuna, Albert Street Dental Care announced a full-scale re-brand.  To reflect the changing nature of the practice and the desire to reach new levels of excellence in their field they re-branded to become 'Proudmouth - Caring Dentistry' which is now the largest dental practice in Auckland and New Zealand.
