What happens during a Dentist’s Consultation?

Your consultation includes a complete examination of your soft and hard tissue (gums and teeth/bone), any x-rays required, and in order for you to meet your lifetime oral hygiene goals, your Dentist will also discuss your Future Treatment Plan with you.

Should you require specialist treatment (e.g. for advanced periodontal disease), then you will be referred to a specialist.

What is involved in a Hygiene appointment?

The primary role of a Hygienist is to prevent periodontal (gum) diseases through non-surgical treatments.  They also assess their patients’ personal oral hygiene routines and instruct of changes needed to maintain healthy teeth and gums as an integral part of their general health.

All Proudmouth Club patients receive two six monthly Hygiene Treatments, approximately 45-minutes each.  Each appointment involves a scale, clean and polish, a free teeth whitening consultation (if requested) and bite wing x-rays (if required and at the Hygienists’ discretion).
